Happy Park in Borca is a family recreation area with a playground and places to pause. A good choice when the children want room to run and you would rather spend a few hours outdoors than plan a full hike.

Choose a walk around San Vito that suits the children’s age and energy. Look at the trees, search for signs of wildlife and turn back when everyone is ready for lunch. That, too, is a lovely way to discover the mountains.

Starting in San Vito
You can enquire about bicycle and e-bike hire in central San Vito for a family outing. The Lunga Via delle Dolomiti largely follows the former railway: choose a section towards Cortina or the Cadore villages to suit the children and the distance you have in mind.
Long stretches are away from motor traffic, but the route is not entirely flat or free of crossings. With younger children, check the surface, gradients and availability of suitable bikes or child seats in advance.
A day trip · By car
Drive to San Candido and follow the Drava cycle path towards Lienz in Austria. It is a popular family ride, but the complete route is around 43 km, so consider the children’s stamina or choose a shorter section.
Check bike hire, one-way returns and train arrangements before setting out. In Lienz, leave time for lunch and a look around before heading back.

Indoor pools, a children’s pool and a slide make this a useful choice when the trails are less inviting. Plan it as a drive and check opening hours and admission before leaving.
Outdoors · San Candido or Auronzo
Two places to try a rail toboggan against a mountain backdrop. This is an outdoor activity: check the weather, operating dates, and age and height requirements before promising the children a ride.
When the grown-ups take a little time out
Closer to San Vito, Corte Spa offers a few hours of relaxation with a pool overlooking the mountains, saunas and a steam room. Day Spa access is available; check availability and booking before setting out.
